It is a partnership of scientists, clinicians, ethicists, social scientists and science communicators. There is a close collaboration with teachers and patient representatives.
Transcampus Diabetes
Transcampus Diabetes is an alliance between two major European institutions in the field of diabetes:
The Diabetes Research Center, an institution of the Brussels Free University–VUB and University Hospital-UZ Brussels lead by Dr Daniel Pipeleers;
and
The Diabetes Research Institute San Raffaele, located in Milan and lead by Pr Lorenzo Piemonti.
Together they collaborate with the Diabetes BioBank and the Belgian Diabetes Register, in the framework of the Center for Beta Cell Therapy in Diabetes. Transcampus Diabetes aims to favour exchange of knowledge between the two academic centers; with the aim of progressing towards a cure for diabetes.
